Come and Join

Dear Tony, Khawla, Maha and Ahmed,

It has been a while since the last post was published. So far, I have not seen anything thing from you yet. What worries me is that the “Captain” had promised to publish a new post regarding his health and physical status at the weekend, but he did not. I hope you are alright “Captain” and we will be hearing from you some good news and new English vocab.
Khawla, was busy last week with the diplomatic convention workshop, the reason why we have not received anything from her. Iam not sure what the said convention is and why there was limited seats. Perhaps Khawla can tell us something about the nature of her job, a brief description regarding this type of workshops and its contents/requirements. Also, I miss the article from the BBC that Khawla used to tell us about. May be we could find something that we could debate about during the week.
Maha! What can you tell us about you and what is the status of your papers for Canada? By the way, thank you for the French ‘lingo’ correction. It was impressive touch and perhaps you could tell us more regarding the French study.
Ahmed, where are you brother? Any good news?
As for me, there was nothing interested during this week, except keep monitoring the Blog and a match of bowling in Marina Mall last Friday

Is there anyone knows the word (Entrepreneurship)?

Have a good time you all,

S'OK Firas, I have just been a bit lazy and didn't think people were interested in the workings / non-workings of my plumbing system. The good news is that I am well on the path to recovery, but it will take time and patience.

As for 'entrepreneurship'- you have to go back to the French language, dear Firas! An 'entrepreneur' is someone who undertakes an enterprise - something new / risky as in a business venture. So the skill of entrepreneurship is that shown by bold businessmen such as Donald Trump, Richard Branson or Bill Gates... OK, so there is risk everywhere, but successful entrepreneurship comes from having an original idea and making it work as a business enterprise. It implies being creative, resourceful, calculating and courageous - it takes strong nerves, lots of self-belief and confidence. Look at successful businesses / businessmen and how the spirit of entrepreneurship underpins the capitalist market economy.

How's that?

Tony

Salam brothers and sisters and on top Mr. Tony.

This email revolves mostly around my situation and the bad luck which is stuck to me as my shadow.

Brother Firas I would like to thank you for your question. The word convention means اتفاقية such as Vienna Convention for diplomatic relations. Anyway I am a member of WATA (WORLD ASSOSIATION OF ARAB TRANSLATORS AND LINGUISTS). One week back they sent an invitation to a workshop regarding what they called A MEMORANDUM FOR DIPLOMATIC UNDERSTANDING, I registered my name to attend this online translation course; however, they accepted some members for specific reasons and refused some others for unknown reasons even though I met all their requirements!!!. I condoled myself by saying that either there are more students who are in need for this free of charge course, or some others who are already working in an embassy and they need this course badly.

Thank you again, and now for Mr. Tony’s respond to your email I am sorry to say that I could not figure out many words of his writing because I am still confused.

I will try to read again when I go back home and I will return back to my BBC contribution INSHALLAH.

Bye for now.
